Frequently asked questions

Below are some of the questions I have gotten over the past three years. If you have a question not on this list please contact me and I will gladly answer it:

  • How many people does the home sleep? Eight people in beds and two people on the roll-away cots for a total of 10. Of course you are always welcome to bring a tent to pitch in the front yard if you desire.
  • Is the lake good for swimming? Yes, the water depth at the dock is about 3-4 feet with a very sandy bottom. However, there are zebra mussels in patches so I would advise wearing water socks.
  • Can I bring my boat and put it at the dock? Yes, as long as your boat can be in water that is about 4 feet or less and you bring your own bumpers. Please be advised that when it’s windy the lake can get quite choppy so I’m not sure I would advise leaving the boat at the dock overnight or at other times of high wind.
  • Where is the closest public boat launch? There are two boat launches within about 2 miles of the rental. Additionally this map shows other launches for the area.
  • Can I bring  my pet? Possibly – it needs to be requested prior to booking and be prepared that I will ask you a number of questions to assure a good fit. If a pet is approved there is an additional $10.00 per day fee.
  • What amenities do you have? Great question – check out the complete listing of amenities.
  • How many vehicles can I bring? Parking spaces for three vehicles (including boat trailers) is included with the rental. Should you need additional parking it can be arranged for an additional daily fee of $5.00 per vehicle.
  • Can I get a discount if I stay longer than a week? Of course! Book your reservation before May 15th and you will always receive one free night for every seven days at the rental. (Stay seven nights and only pay for six)
  • Do you offer any other specials? Typically no. However, there are times when a last-minute booking discount will be given. During the off-peak season (after Labor Day and before Memorial Day) rates are always cheaper.
  • What do you mean a “four family”? There are a total of four units in the building, each with their own private entrance. Two units upstairs and two units downstairs. This unit is one of the downstairs units and I live in the other downstairs unit. The two upstairs units are not rented as vacation or short-term rentals; rather those are rented out to regular annual tenants.
  • Can I check out late or check in early? During the summer months, unfortunately no, with check-out at 11 am and check-in at 3 pm my housekeeper will not have enough time to fully clean the unit prior to the next group arriving. Off-season rentals it is possible but prior arrangements must be made.

  • What is your cancellation policy? All rentals must be paid in full no less than 45 days prior to arrival. Should your plans change a full refund will be given (less a $50 administrative fee) for all cancellations made more than 45 days in advance. Any cancellations made less than 45 days in advance will only be given a refund should the dates be rented to another guest.
  • What is the $200 refundable deposit for and how soon do I get it back? The $200 deposit is a security deposit, which is refunded within 14 days of your stay.
